Hi! This lovely young lady, Ishita is my friend's daughter, and she taught me to make chicken loaf. No other chicken loaf but a microwaved chicken loaf, all done in 20 minutes.
Thank you Ishita!

Standing time 10 minutes
Makes a loaf 1 inch thick and 10 inches circle

1 tbs chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 big green capsicum chopped
2 medium onions chopped
2 tsp garlic chopped
2 tsp ginger chopped

Method
Cut the hard edges of the bread, soak them in milk, squeeze the extra milk out, and put the bread in chicken mince. Discard the left over milk.
Add in all the ingredients and mix well.
Grease a deep 10 inches diameter microwavable dish with very little butter. Pour the mix and flatten and smoothen the top.

WEEKEND GETAWAY: CHANDIPUR

It was truely a weekend getaway from day to day nuisances. Our blissful faces confirm the truth of it.

We went to Chandipur in Odisha from Kolkata.

It is one the most amazing beaches in the world.Check this link http://www.theworldgeography.com/2013/08/strange-beaches.html The Chandipur beach is listed among 15 top strange beaches in the world.
Why is it strange?
Well you can literally walk into the sea!!!
Well check this
Do not believe YET?
See the next three pics...

The first pic shows the sea near the horizon, the seconnd pic has sea about midway from horizon and shore, and third pic is at time of full high tide. These pics were taken from our guest room veranda. Took us a while to realize this on the first day.

This pic was taken early morning about 5:30am or so, and...
these are the same rocks at about 8:30am morning with high tide!

We were so excited the first day, we walked till the sea waves during the low tide (actually the horizon from our veranda). The beach is flat for stretches varying 1 to 6 kms. You can just go walking in ankle deep water till you reach actual waves.
 My little world enjoying themselves...
It's a serene beach with very few visitors
 Lovely breeze..

We were thrilled

We in the morning
4:45am

Here is the first glimpse of the sun...

Morning in bloom...

The foot prints of my most loved people in the world...
 Adhrit and Aarotrika

Tracks of a hermit crab...

The beach is strewn with sea shells

just like that...

Guess what?
It is dusk.
The moon is out.
Lucky we, its full moon!
High tide is approaching...
As the tide gradually came closer, we moved slowly towards shore.
We stayed for long in the beach observation point at night and enjoyed the sea in full moon during high tide. Oh! the night before there was rains with thundering and lightening. The sea would just dazzle up with lightening. VOW!!!

Our last morning of the stay
5:00am
A friend took us to see spotted antelopes...
shhh..
they are very shy animals and ever alert...

What shy? A couple of them were saved from poachers and brought up here...
So some of them show little faith in some of we fellow humans and
like to eat maize corn from their hands...

 Last day with the sea
Kids enjoying
As the high tide would nudge towards the shore, we walked a few more step towards shore and so on ...till it was full high tide. Now to the observation point...

As there are not many visitors, no commercialization, the beach is still a peaceful rendezvous with nature
It was a short holiday
But some holidays are experiences and calm memories
This holiday filled my heart
Am peaceful
Am refreshed
Am charged
Am ready to meet the madness of life

BRACELET OR PONY TAIL BAND?

All you need is a discarded T

Cut horizontal strips of about 1 inch or 2.5 cm thickness
Now this is fun part
You just have to do it to enjoy it

Hold the two free ends of the strip and give a good pull
and you have a neat cord with free edges neatly folded in which just don't need to be stitched

I used some metal bells for glamour and cliNk.

Secure with few stitches three cords together at one end. Now plait the cords till the other end, and then neatly stitch the ends to form a band

Now you have a fancy bracelet

This is strechable and so can be used also as a pony tail band.

SUPERCOOL...
DO IT TO BELIVE IT...

A NEW BELT EVERYTIME TO MATCH YOUR DRESS :) !!!

I feel like as if I just woke up from a deep sleep, still stretching my limbs...Its been a long time since I wrote on my blog. Sorry:(. was bit tangled...

Well this is the fastest craft ever done by me...

A NEW BELT EVERYTIME TO MATCH YOUR DRESS :) !!!

All you need are buckles of your choice from craft shop.
The picture bellow shows front and back of the same buckle.
A flower bouquet buckle.

Next what you need are:
  • scrap pieces of clothes of your choice
  • measuring tape
  • sewing machine
  • matching or contrasting machine threads
Method:
  • Measure your waist using the measuring tape at the level where you wear your belt and add 3 inches or 8cm to it (say "A")
  • Measure the inside belt loop height and minus 0.8inch or 3mm(say "B")
  • Mark and neatly cut out your favorite length of cloth in size A x 4B
  • Now neatly fold in the cloth along the entire length as "M" and fold in the raw edges
  • Stitch the cloth with parallel rows of stitches. You can use fancy stitches as well. I was too excited that I did it all in simple run.
  • Now you have belt strip of size A x B
  • Fix the edges of the strip to buckles as directed
Make belt strips in many colours, prints and even reversible

Change the strips as per your dress
And there, you are done

SABOO-DANA POHA

Saboodana or sago grains are easily available in grocer's shop. These white pearl like granules are pure starch and make many tasty dishes. One of them is saboodana poha. This particular dish is eaten specially as breakfast during some religious fasting( it give calories to tide over fasting period). I like it anyway anyday:).

Ingredients

Saboodana    1/2cup
Potato        1 medium size, cubed
Zeera(cumin)    1tsp
Red chilli    1 nos
Peanuts        1 to 2 tbs(depends on how nutty you are:)
Vegetable Oil    2tbs
Sea salt    to taste
Note:Soak saboodana in water for 3 to 4 hours till it swells up to 1.5 times its size and is soft inside.Drain.

Method
Take a wok and let the oil heat.
Put in the peanuts and fry them to golden brown, take out and keep aside.
In the same oil put in zeera/cumin seeds and whole red chilli, let them crackle.
Put the cubed potatoes and salt to taste and fry till potatoes are done.
Now put in the drained saboodana and fried peanuts in the wok, keep tossing or stirring. You shall be noticing the white saboodana changes to translucent pearls. Its done.
Enjoy with Indian masala or Adrak chai/tea.

LET'S SAVE in this HOLIDAY!

Here is a small and very easy holiday project.
Let's learn the art of saving a little.
"Money saved is money earned"

Take a small can with a lid

Turn the can upside down and mark a line big enough for the coin of largest size in the center of the flat surface(look inset picture)
Now with the help of chisel and hammer carefully open up this mark

Now look inside the tin and try to fold in the raw edges and hammer them down inside the tin
Next tape this edges from inside the tin. This is now safe for even a child try to pick out coin from inside the tin(look at inset picture)

Measure any fancy paper or felt for the outer surfaces of the tin and cut them out. Apply craft glue on the surface of the tin(inset picture)
Neatly fix the paper on the tin can.

Decorate the tin cans with stickers or any thing you like. Once the lid is ON you have a coin slit in the tin and your bank is ready

Save all the coins in the house and have fun...
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and
WARM WISHES FOR THE COMING NEW YEAR!
