Me Made May 2017: Day 18

A BIig Hi!

Month of May is pretty hot up here! So was wondering whether to get a hair cut or not. Best part of having long hair in summers is You can tie it up. But fun short hair is what I wanted. So be it..

Day 18
 What am I wearing?
Dupatta/stole and A-line kurta made of gold and mauve weave Chanderi fabric.
And churidaar/lower made of cotton camric fabric.
I like the straight boat neck of this kurta..

All together looks good!

Next I would like to share some of my latest creations fresh from the sewing machine...

And embellished it with subtle embroidery...

I did a smart job..
I got some golden beads, velvet cut-out flowers, stick-on crystals and fabric glue...

Hi!
We have come half way through May!

Today I have an easy craftilious sew project for anybody who can hold needle and thread and do simple hem.

Day 15
 My easy DIY scraf!

I started with a printed chiffon fabric in off-white and black.
Neatly hem the edges by hand or machine.
Now I had some some wooden beads for my daughters craft works..
Painted them in bright red, green, blue and yellow using acrylic colors...
Once the beads are dry and ready..
Sew them at regular interval on all through the edge of the fabric...

Done!!!
My scarf is ready!

Wear it anyway you like!
Very simple!
Yet,
Stylish!!

Hi Everyone!

Today and tomorrow I share some Old world Charm we all enjoyed as children!

Day 10

A slip made of pure fine cotton fabric with little embroidery..

Here is the slip I sew for my 8 year old.
There are crocheted lace on all edges..
The slip is loose fit with big armholes and little gather on the waist...

Here is a close up of the lace..
Simple but beautiful...

Mr Pig in his garden taking care of his flowering plants...
I made this embroidery with simple stitches like..
Stem, chain and button hole.

The slip is ready.
As I, and as many of you used to wear cotton slips in childhood; I prefer them to today's hosiery/ T-shirt/ jersey material factory made spaghettis.
My daughter adores it..
Fun to watch her wear this and potter around...

Shall show you another one tomorrow!

Me Made May 2017: Day 4

Hi!
Today something different...
My daughter's dress..
I sew frocks and tops for my daughter.

Day 4

This dress is made of two fabrics:
Block printed light pink textured fabric and
Double shaded thread weave south cotton in aubergine/violet fabric.
There is alternate fabric piping to highlight the edgings..
The lower part is simple A line cut...
There are purple buttons at the back..
Most lovely part:
It has small gungroos/bells sewn in the waist which tinkle softly with every movement. Just love the sound..

Here is my darling Aarotrika sitting on the window sill of my in-law's ancestral house.
Old houses have their own charm
Thick walls
Solid wood windows

Hope you like this dress

There elastic band in the waist..
So easy to stitch and wear.
Left it plain,
So can wear with many different tops...
